IMPORTANT DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS: We have FEES and Videostroboscopy which can be performed in our outpatient location or in-home for select patients with difficulty leaving the house. Diagnostic instrumentation is key to developing an effective and safe plan of care for your swallowing and/or voicing difficulties. These are both done through the use of flexible endoscopy.
My name is Ann-Marie Elia, and I am a Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with experience in medical-based speech therapy services since 2010. I founded Cobalt Therapy to deliver high-quality, specialized care for adult patients with voice and swallowing disorders.
Cobalt Therapy provides outpatient therapy services in Lake County, Florida, as well as instrumental evaluations. Our mobile instrumental exam services extend throughout Lake, Seminole, Orange, and parts of Volusia and Brevard counties, allowing us to support hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare settings with timely, on-site diagnostics.
I am deeply passionate about helping those we serve improve their function and quality of life by providing the highest level of care, utilizing evidence-based techniques and advanced diagnostic tools.

Our therapists are highly trained in advanced, evidence-based treatment approaches for voice and swallowing disorders.
We offer specialized interventions including Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) for dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and facial paresis.
Our clinicians maintain advanced training and certifications in proven therapy programs, including:
This advanced training allows us to deliver targeted, effective care tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists offer teletherapy services for select voice, communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
Teletherapy can be an effective and convenient option for individuals with mild deficits, allowing patients to receive high-quality care from the comfort of their home.
Following your evaluation, we will determine whether teletherapy or in-person treatment is the most appropriate model for your specific needs. All recommendations are made on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safest and most effective care.
Cobalt Therapy is uniquely dedicated to adult speech therapy, allowing us to provide a level of specialization not commonly found in traditional rehabilitation settings.
Our clinicians are experienced in managing complex medical conditions impacting voice, swallowing, cognition, and communication, delivering precise, evidence-based care.
As a result of this specialized focus and high demand, wait times may occur. We continue to thoughtfully grow our team to maintain access while preserving the quality and individualized attention our patients expect.
We are enrolled with Original Medicare (Part B) and accept many PPO insurance plans with out-of-network benefits.
As a courtesy, our team will verify your benefits and submit claims on your behalf. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, and any applicable co-insurance, co-payments, or non-covered services are the patient’s responsibility.
For individuals without applicable coverage or those seeking additional services, we also offer flexible self-pay options designed to provide access to high-quality care.
If you are currently receiving services under Medicare Part A (such as home health services), you will have to wait until you are discharged. Please read this article to learn more about whether you would benefit most from therapy under your Medicare Part A vs Part B benefits and why it matters:
We are proud to be the only providers in Lake County, Florida offering both FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) and videostroboscopy for comprehensive evaluation of swallowing and voice function.
These advanced diagnostic tools provide real-time visualization, allowing for highly accurate assessments and targeted, effective treatment planning.
In addition to our outpatient services, our mobile instrumental exam team brings FEES and videostroboscopy directly to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare settings throughout Lake, Seminole, Orange, and parts of Volusia and Brevard counties—improving access to care and reducing delays in diagnosis.
We also incorporate specialized treatment techniques, including Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) for dysphagia and facial paresis, to support optimal patient outcomes.
Cobalt Therapy is currently a Medicare B Provider and accepts all patients under original Medicare as well as those with insurance plans that cover out of network services. While we are not a provider for Medicare Advantage (or Medicare Replacement) plans, some will make exceptions if you can not find a Speech Therapist in their network for your area.
This also reduces the chances of our company ever having a long wait list which is what can happen at outpatient centers that accept most insurance plans. If you are restricted by your current insurance, we have cash self-pay options that can offer much value as a supplement to an existing plan.
We do all of the billing for you and you only need to pay if you have a co-payment/co-insurance portion. The only requirement for your care to be covered by Medicare is that you can not currently be receiving speech therapy for the same services. You also can not be in a home health episode receiving benefits under your Medicare Part A benefits. That would mean that you are already getting therapy services in your home and/or nursing visits under your Medicare Part A benefits. Confusing? Yes!
