My name is Ann-Marie Dykstra and I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist (more commonly called Speech Therapist) licensed within the state of Florida to provide services. After 10 years working at various medical facilities across the United States, I decided to take the skills I acquired and open up my own speech therapy practice for adults serving Lake County, Florida. As the number of patients who were learning about my services grew, I went on to recruit a team of equally passionate speech therapists to help provide specialized treatment and healing for those in need of our services.
Established in March 2020, Cobalt Therapy is the leading rehabilitation provider exclusively dedicated to Speech Therapy services for adults in Lake County, FL. Our mission is to be the premier specialists in the field, offering unparalleled speech therapy care for adults with voice and swallowing disorders.
Exclusively Focused: At Cobalt Therapy, speech therapy is our sole focus. Our team of dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) is committed to providing comprehensive treatment for a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.
Cutting-Edge Diagnostics: We take pride in being the only providers in Lake County, FL, to offer invaluable diagnostics for voice and swallow function, including FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) and Videostroboscopy. These advanced diagnostic tools provide real-time insights, ensuring precise assessments for effective treatment planning. We also utilize Neuromuscular electronic stimulation (NMES) for swallow therapy and facial paresis. Our therapists each have advanced certifications for providing effective evidence based programs (such as LSVT LOUD for improved intelligibility and volume for our patients with Parkinson’s Disease).
Comprehensive Services: Our services encompass both evaluation and therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of all adults with medical underlying conditions. We subspecialize in helping seniors ages 65 and over to regain cognitive communication, voice and swallowing skills.
Collaborative Approach: To ensure that you receive the best possible care, Cobalt Therapy partners with other companies, offering full comprehensive rehabilitative care when needed. Our collaborative efforts provide a seamless and holistic approach to your overall well-being.
At Cobalt Therapy, we primarily reach out to referring doctors to build strong relationships and to ensure they are aware of our specialized speech therapy services. We also value the power of word of mouth, as satisfied patients and their families recommend our services to others. Additionally, we maintain a Facebook page to connect with the Lake County community.
We work with compassion, expertise, and the shared goal of tailoring speech therapy to your needs and lifestyle.
Insurance Coverage: We understand the importance of accessibility to our services. As a Medicare primary provider, we ensure that seniors in Lake County have access to top-quality speech therapy care. Additionally, we work with most insurance companies to offer coverage out of network, extending our care to as many individuals as possible.

We offer services at our outpatient office located 5 minutes from downtown Mount Dora, FL. We also have a team of mobile therapists that can treat you in the comfort of your own home. In-home therapy may be limited depending on availability of our therapist and your location.
We have therapists that are trained with NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) for Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) as well as facial paresis. All of our therapists have advanced certifications for providing effective evidence based programs such as: LSVT LOUD, Effective Swallowing Protocol (ESP) with Ampcare NMES, McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP).
Unlike most rehab companies that offer a variety of therapy services, Cobalt Therapy solely focuses on Speech Therapy for adults. Our therapists have over 10 years of experience within complex medical conditions that impact communication, cognition and the ability to swallow. This also means that you are less likely to be on a wait list as most rehab companies only have one speech therapist on staff. Because we only focus on Speech Therapy, we are able to grow a supportive level of staff to ensure you get seen.
We accept Medicare Part B plans as well as most out of network insurance coverage. We do all the billing for you, so you only pay if you have a co-insurance/co-payment. Those payments can easily be set-up on your patient portal. This also reduces the chances of our company ever having a long wait list which is what can happen at outpatient centers that accept most insurance plans. If you are restricted by your current insurance, we have cash self-pay options that can offer much value as a supplement to an existing plan.
Please read this article to learn more about whether you would benefit most from therapy under your Medicare Part A vs Part B benefits and why it matters:

Cobalt Therapy is currently a Medicare B Provider and accepts all patients under original Medicare as well as those with insurance plans that cover out of network services. While we are not a provider for Medicare Advantage (or Medicare Replacement) plans, some will make exceptions if you can not find a Speech Therapist in their network for your area.

We do all of the billing for you and you only need to pay if you have a co-payment/co-insurance portion. The only requirement for your care to be covered by Medicare is that you can not currently be receiving speech therapy for the same services. You also can not be in a home health episode receiving benefits under your Medicare Part A benefits. That would mean that you are already getting therapy services in your home and/or nursing visits under your Medicare Part A benefits. Confusing? Yes!
