IN HOME SERVICES

                We drive to you!

In-home Service

We provide services in the home for people that have problems swallowing their food or drinks safely. Just get scheduled with one of our therapists and we will drive to you for your assessment and treatment sessions at no extra cost.

Dysphagia

Dysphagia is difficulty with swallowing food or liquids safely. When we swallow water for example, it should go down the esophagus (food pipe) into your stomach. If the swallow is impaired, it may result in the water getting displaced into the trachea (airway) which may then lead to the lungs if not expelled through coughing. This increases chances of choking and even acquiring aspiration pneumonia.

We have a variety of treatment options for people with Dysphagia. We are really excited about the Ampcare Effective Swallowing Protocol (ESP™), which uses NMES (Nuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) for optimal results.  People also refer to NMES as e-stim or VitalStim. The device delivers an electrical current through electrodes that are placed over the identified weakened areas. The current sends a signal to the nerves which help increase muscle constractions when swallowing. With this technology, the patient can not only improve accuracy of muscle contraction but help re-educate the muscles for swallowing purposes. We’ve seen great results so far with this program!

Insurance & Costs

Cobalt Therapy is currently a Medicare B Provider and accepts all patients under original Medicare as well as those with insurance plans that cover out of network services. We do all of the billing for you and you only need to pay if you have a co-payment/co-insurance portion. The only requirement is that you can not currently be in a home health episode receiving benefits under your Medicare Part A benefits. If you are not covered by insurance, or are in need of a service that insurance does not cover, we do offer private pay options, affordable Wellness Plans and discounts if paid in advance. While a referral from your doctor is not required to get started, we will need a physician that is willing to sign off on the plan of care when we fax it over to them.
