Mobile FEES and Videostroboscopy
Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow
We have flexible endoscopy, more commonly referred to as FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) and Videostroboscopy. This allows us to bring invaluable diagnostic measures right to your facility. It requires no anesthesia and is cost effective since we come to you. A thin and flexible tube with a tiny camera on the end is gently passed through the patient’s nose and into their throat. This camera allows our speech therapists to see what happens when the person swallows different foods and liquids. The Videostroboscopy provides a slow-motion view allows our speech therapists to see any issues or abnormalities in the vocal cords that might affect a person’s voice or cause other problems. These are both invaluable tools for diagnosing and treating voice-related conditions.
We provide these diagnostic services directly to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare settings throughout Lake, Seminole, Orange, and parts of Volusia and Brevard counties—improving access to care and reducing delays in diagnosis.
Please see our video on our home page for seeing how these exams work.
